let’s be honest, with 6 private spas the Domaine de Monteils does not claim to be a model of eco responsibility, but we put a lot of goodwill to minimize the impact of our activity on the environment.

Waste management

• The sorting of waste is organized on site: Each apartment has a bin with several compartments dedicated to each category of waste. A translated note on waste sorting is provided

• A green waste composting area is set up in a remote corner of the estate.

• A zeolite bed has been installed for the treatment of wastewater: Alternative absorbent that prevents the contamination of groundwater by leachate (laundry, organic micro pollutants, ammonium, heavy metals) and improves the quality of effluents.

Energy savings

• All exterior and interior bulbs are LEDs. The exterior lighting is programmed by an astronomical clock, including several spotlight with presence detectors.

• The filtration systems of the pools and spas work with an eco-smart mode.

• Very good insulation of roofs and windows with triple glazing or double glazing with reinforced thermal insulation.

• No air conditioning: Our 50-60cm thick stone walls retain heat in winter and freshness in summer to the point that an air conditioning system is not necessary. Electric underfloor heating (villa), heat pump, or electric radiant panels.

Eco-friendly renovation

• The renovation of all the buildings was carried out with sustainable materials: Wooden doors and windows, insulation of the ceilings with hemp wool, reuse of terracotta “parfeuilles” under roofs and reclaimed terracotta tiles, natural paints and lime coatings.
